Here’s How You Can Check If Your Groomers are Using the Right Method Of Grooming

Since 1996, with decade old of pet grooming experiences garnered from around the globe, we discovered that methods of correct grooming should be practiced with proper education and attention. At our academy, we unreservedly pass our knowledge down to the new generation of pets’ groomers. Here, we start off with the most basic approaches like smooth praises and lots of touching and rubbing to soothe a dog down. We incorporate holistic massages to pets to help them relax and both groomer and dog alike are taught to communicate with each other through touches and soft verbal communication. Our aim is to promote a therapeutic effect enjoyed by both dog and groomer during the grooming process.

Here’s how you can check if your dog has been treated with right grooming methods or otherwise:

ONE: Your dog should not show signs of lethargy, moodiness, lack of appetite or crankiness. Your dog would be delighted to see the groomers and go home clean, neat and happy!

TWO: You should check that there is no irritation, redness or itchiness, cuts or bruises appearing on your dog’s body parts for the next 2 to 5 days. This could be the results of clipper burn, use of low grade shampoos, wrongly use of scissors and shears, forcefully use of de-matter, over use of hot air blower or wrongly use of slicker brushes. Make sure that groomer always carry a can of disinfectant to disinfect all its tools after each grooming session. Skin diseases can be transmitted through each other with contaminated tools.

THREE: Your dog should not drag his anus on the ground after a grooming session. Anal gland should be properly cleansed by your groomer.

FOUR: Make sure your dog is attended by experience groomer preferably certified and not inexperience helpers or maids from foreign countries! Managing and handling pets correctly essentially is utmost important for if it is not done correctly from the beginning, it can be a daunting task later in your dog’s life!

FIVE: Make sure you caution the groomer that you do not want your dog to be handled with heavy hands i.e. tying the dogs on unspecific places like legs, arms and muzzle, sedate with medication or handled by loud grouchy groomer. Insist that you do not want your dog to be muzzled up during the course of grooming because it can be extremely uncomfortable for your dog.

SIX: Choose a groomer that is passionate about your dog, can be reach easily, willing to go the extra mile for the well being of your dog and make sure he/she is well documented with vast experience, the last thing we need is “Blind leading the blinds!” A good groomer is important because the next person that is closest to your pet may just be your groomer! So, choose wisely. “How good your dog looks and reacts is the testament of how good your groomer really is!”
