Entry Requirements
Diploma recognized by OUM with 1 year working experiences
Basic degree in any discipline, recognized by any local/public universities or private colleges OR if above not available then, Take the Executive Diploma in Pet Grooming and proceed to the Professional Diploma in Pet Grooming & Management with 1-3 years working experiences

Professional Diploma in Pet Grooming & Management

General Practitioner Groomer Course
13 WEEKS- Introduction to all breeds, its temperament and handling
- Anatomy and health care of each breeds especially skin & coat maintenance
- Introduction on equipment use and care
- Bathing, blow drying, nails clipping, ears hygiene, brushing, de-matting, required coat removal
- Education on nutrition
Pet Cosmetologist Course
28 WEEKS- General Practitioner Groomer course will be introduced. This course will emphasize further on grooming laboratory working with animals, applying and perfecting skills.
- External parasites control and treatment i.e. fleas, ticks and mites and identifying skin disorders and treatment
- Trimming of several dogs' breeds and maintenance of each breed
- Show cuts, hand stripping techniques, coat treatments and spa
- Breed's anatomy studies that are recognized by the Malaysian Pet Groomers Association (MPGA)
- Professional students will spend time learning the management of a grooming business, client relations and personnel management
- Small business marketing is discussed; instruction and contacts are provided, site selection, capital requirements, budgeting and business plan development are taught at this level
- Retail outlets that require groomer will be introduced depending on availability.
Master Groomer
35 WEEKS(at least 3 years documented experience)
The ultimate grooming qualification. After advancing from the previous levels, this course will go beyond the skills of grooming and members need to sit and passed through exams conducted in each and every groups of dog breeds recognized by Malaysian Pet Groomers Association (MPGA) i.e. toy, terrier, gundog, working and etc.
Members must passed all shows and maintenance grooming plus theory on every group of dog breeds. With this certification, members are able to hold seminars and grooming school as a certified teacher endorsed by Malaysian Pet Groomers Association (MPGA).
Special Course: Creative Grooming
2 WEEKS
This part of grooming lessons are to unleash groomers' creativity bringing out the best in each groomer's imagination. Basic grooming knowledge required before attending this course. Colouring techniques are added into these lessons.
As the winner of Best Creative Groomer 2005 organised by Malaysian Kennel Association (MKA) with her Poodle and again as the winner of 2006 Best Groomer In Show organised by Malaysian Pet Groomers Association (MPGA) with her Shih Tzu and Poodle, Ms Annie Goh explains that this session of grooming combine art and soul with unlimited freedom of imagination to unleash your creativity and yet achieving precision. Upon completion of this course, certification of participation will be awarded without examinations.
